The oil is carefully cold pressed at the local olive mill by family P. Vardakastanis.
It keeps at least 2 years after production date.
It is delicious and healthy for your inside as well as for your skin and hair.

Zakynthos has a mild Mediterranean climate with much rain between November and March and plenty of sunshine throughout the year.
It is an island with lush vegetation and rich in agricultural products based on the cultivation of olives, citrus fruits, grapes and flowers. Many families still have a farm with gardens and a few animals like hens, pigs, goats and sheep.
Wine - The Zakynthian wine industry is developing and producing some top quality wines during the last years. We recommend you to visit Grampsas estate www.ktimagrampsa.gr
Currants(small black raisins) - used the be “the gold of Zante” a hundred years ago. There is still a big production and you can find the local currants at the market.
Honey - is still produced in a traditional natural way in Zakynthos and has a wonderful unique taste.
You can purchase local honey from Daphnes or from the locals who sell their wares by the roadside.
Cheese - Zakynthos has its own special cheese which is native to the island.
The cheese is called Ladotyri and is a medium hard cheese produced from goat's and sheep's milk.
The name Ladotyri is taken from the Greek words for oil and cheese, as the traditional procedure used to make the cheese involves it being kept for long periods of time in olive oil giving it a wonderful spicy flavour.
Another recommended cheese is the local Graviera. These can be ordered at Daphnes or bought from food markets in Zakynthos main town.
Mandolato, Fytoura and Pasteli - are traditional local sweets of Zakynthos which have been made from recipes passed down through the generations.
The Mandolato is nougat made with egg whites, honey, sugar and almonds and is usually consumed during Carnival time.
The Fytoura is made from semolina, fried and covered in lots of sugar and the
Pasteli is made with sesame seeds, honey and?almonds. Both of these are sold throughout the summer months by stall holders in Zakynthos Town.
