Daphnes is a three minute walk from Porto Roma Beach which is covered partly with sand and partly with pebbles, gently sloping and free from currents.
Above the beach, overlooking the sea is the Porto Roma Fish Tavern. A few minutes walk up the road there are two more local taverns. There you will also find a well-equipped mini-market where fresh bread, fruit and vegetables are available. Here you can also rent a car or book a Turtle safari. Next to the mini-market there is a small hotel with a pool open to all.
Vassilikos is still one of the most undeveloped areas of Zakynthos, but it is able to cater for many tastes.
Within walking distance of Daphnes and spread throughout the Vassilikos area there is a varied selection of taverns, coffee bars and restaurants which can offer both local Greek dishes and International cuisine.
Walking to Gerakas beach
Vassilikos has some of the best beaches of the island. Many are gently sloping and sandy, and well guarded from the wind which make them ideally suited for children. Gerakas Beach, the nearest turtle beach, is 1 km or a 20 minute walk from Daphnes.
The local bus stop is next to the mini-market. The nearest ATM is also 1 km away. The bakery and coffee shop as well!
